We are searching for the coherent production of light pseudoscalar or scalar particles in a 12-m optical cavity placed in a 5-T transverse magnetic field. From the level of the observed optical rotation we have set a limit on the coupling of such particles to two photons, g_aγγ2.5×{}10^-6 GeV^-1, provided mₐ{}7×{}10^-4 eV.
