Lesbians face challenges as women and as homosexuals in the corporate world, and this shows up clearly in the development of their careers. Overseas postings can force women out of the closet when they request their partner to be accommodated, and in some countries being out as a lesbian can be life threatening. For those lesbians who find their life partner during a foreign posting, they may not be able to return home with them because of restrictions in their own home country. The article looks at these mobility issues facing corporate lesbians, analyzes the impact these issues have on corporations, and calls for further research to be undertaken on the mobility of corporate lesbians.
