This study explores the effectiveness of life skills education among disadvantaged adolescents. The life skills module of the World Health Organization was used to assess the life skills of 222 adolescents from rural and urban areas of Karnataka. The intervention was conducted by trained social workers for two months. A follow- up assessment was carried out after a year. The findings demonstrated significant changes in all domains of life skills post the two months of intervention. However, the mean scores for the follow-up conducted after a year revealed that the intervention effect was reduced to baseline. This indicates that life skills training must be an ongoing process and should be a component of the school curriculum.
