The first and second quantum corrections to the second virial coefficient have been evaluated in closed form for a (6–12) potential. Such corrections are useful for studying the low-temperature behavior of a gas and for calculating the thermodynamic properties of diatomic gases at high temperatures where the system can be treated as a chemically reacting assembly of atoms with strong interactions. Calculated values of these quantum corrections and their first and second temperature derivatives are given.
