Huang (1948) gave an exact expression in terms of phase shifts for the excess resistivity of a dilute metallic alloy. By direct transformation, this formula is demonstrated to be completely equivalent to the electrical resistivity formula of Rousseau, Stoddart and March (1972; RSM). The criticism that the RSM theory is valid only in Born approximation is thereby refuted.
