Atherosclerosis is the predominant cause of acute coronary syndrome, and is usually associated with rupture of an atherosclerotic plaque resulting in the formation of partial or complete thrombosis of the coronary artery. The main objective of the study is to compare the levels of biochemical marker of atherosclerosis-gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) and sensitive marker of myocardial necrosis-cardiac Troponin-I (cTnI) in patients presenting with acute coronary syndrome (ACS).
