It is shown that, in a plasma with β ⪅ 1 and T e /T i ⪅ 4, parametric excitations of magnetosonic waves through non-linear ion Landau damping may be utilized to heat both electrons and ions. Non-linear saturation and the associated plasma heating rate of this decay process are also considered.
