A simple method for synthesizing Cu2S nanocrystals with different sizes and shapes via solution-phase thermolysis of a copper alkyldithiolate polymer precursor was developed. Monodisperse Cu2S nanodisks can self-assemble into novel corncoblike structure of stacked disks. This solution-phase thermolysis approach provides a facile technique for synthesizing new anisotropic metal chalcogenide nanostructures.
