Dirac-Fock SCF theory for the generalized average energy of configurations is formulated. Practical method for solving the SCF equations in the framework of the basis-set expansion method is presented. Calculations have yielded accurate energies of the L S averaged ground-state configurations of neutral atoms from He to Ne.
