Manufacturing Flexibility and Operational Performance of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Companies in Jordan

This study explores the effect of manufacturing flexibility on the operational performance of Pharmaceuticalmanufacturing firms in Jordan, variables such as of machine, volume, material handling, mix, and routingflexibilities are selected to represent the manufacturing flexibility dimension while quality, cost, speed andreliability are chosen to represent operational performance.A survey questionnaire was distributed for that purpose to the subjects who belong to different departments ordivisions in the production function. The study revealed that manufacturing flexibility is being adopted to amoderate extent, while the operational performance is impressively high. Testing hypothesis indicated that themanufacturing flexibility dimensions have a significant effect on the operational hypothesis performance of thepharmaceutical manufacturing companies, hence, the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis isaccepted.
