The dynamical and conformational properties of n -alkane type molecules in low dimensional molecular crystals have been investigated over a wide temperature range by means of Raman, 2 H NMR and incoherent quasielastic neutron scattering techniques. We discuss these properties for n -nonadecane molecules in very different interacting configurations, i.e. in the layered structure of pure n -nonadecane and within the one-dimensional channels of urea inclusion compounds.
