The A 2 B 2 system of the ring methylene protons in seventeen 2‐mono‐ and di‐substituted 1,3‐dioxolanes is analysed. The gem, cis and trans spin coupling constants and the shift values are reported. The results confirm the existence of a pseudo‐rotation (I to X) with favoured (pseudo) equatorial substitution.
