Aquaculture is essential for meeting rising seafood demand, but traditional feeds raise sustainability issues. This review emphasizes fisheries by-products as a solution to enhance waste management and resource efficiency in aquafeeds. Advanced processing methods like enzymatic hydrolysis, silage, thermal/microwave/ohmic/infrared heating improve their nutritional value, digestibility, and shelf life. Feeding trials across fish species confirm these by-products effectively replace conventional ingredients, reducing pressure on marine ecosystems and natural resources. Although promising, further research is required to optimize processing techniques and tailor formulations to specific species, advancing aquaculture toward greater sustainability and resilience.
