Maps CSR initiatives in Brazilian football clubs, revealing targeted stakeholders and funding sources.
This study aimed to map the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives implemented by clubs from the four main divisions of the 2024 Brazilian Men’s Football Championship, identifying the addressed theme, impacted stakeholder, funding, support, communication, monitoring and evaluation. Data were collected through the official websites and recorded in an online form developed for this study. Content analysis was applied, with categories defined a priori and subsequently revised and restructured based on the findings. Only 27 of the 124 clubs implemented CSR initiatives, most of them from the first division. A total of 181 initiatives were mapped. Among the addressed themes, Philanthropy and Health stood out, while Community and Children and Adolescents were the most frequently stakeholders targeted. Most initiatives were financed by the clubs. Only 60 initiatives included monitoring and evaluation processes. This study contributes to a broader understanding of CSR implementation in the most popular sport in Brazil.
