The absolute total electron scattering cross section for nitrogen monoxide has been measured in a transmission experiment in the energy range 0.5-160 eV. Two distinct features in the energy dependence of the cross section have been observed: an oscillatory structure below 2 eV and a very broad hump with a maximum close to 16 eV. Comparison is made with other experimental results.
