Transesophageal echocardiography-guided percutaneous closure of a ventricular septal rupture using an Amplatzer device led to hemodynamic stabilization and a favorable long-term outcome in a patient with Takotsubo syndrome.
Case Report (n=1)
Percutaneous closure using an Amplatzer device is an effective interventional approach for managing the rare complication of ventricular septal rupture in patients with Takotsubo syndrome who are at high surgical risk.

Aker et al. (2025) conducted a case report in Takotsubo cardiomyopathy complicated by ventricular septal rupture (n=1). Percutaneous VSR closure using an Amplatzer device was evaluated on Hemodynamic stabilization and reduction in left-to-right shunt. Transesophageal echocardiography-guided percutaneous closure of a ventricular septal rupture using an Amplatzer device led to hemodynamic stabilization and a favorable long-term outcome in a patient with Takotsubo syndrome.
