High Nitrogen Energetic Salts of 4,4',5,5'-Tetranitro-2,2'-Biimidazole

However, nitro group is generallyconnected with carbon or nitrogen and consume oxygenlinked to the carbon or nitrogen backbone of the molecule torelease energy. Representatives of the compounds include2,4,6-trinitrotoluene (TNT) and 1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine(RDX). Current interest has focused on the development ofhigh-energy-density materials (HEDMs) with higher perfor-mance and decreased sensitivity to thermal shock and fric-tion.
