It is well established that the melting temperature, T m , of nanoparticles decreases when their size decreases. In Si and similar materials, it is also known that electronic excitation leads to a decrease of T m . Here, the cumulated effect of size reduction and high electronic excitation is studied theoretically. It is shown how, in the thermodynamical limit, both effects combine.
