To the Editor: In their article about Americans' reactions to the events of September 11, 2001, Dr Schlenger and colleagues 1 report that their survey used "stratified random-digitdialing telephone sampling techniques, which make it possible to reach every US household with a telephone (95% of US households)." The survey was administered 1 to 2 months after the attacks and the results were stratified according to the proximity to the crash sites.
