Following treatment with a vitamin B 12 preparation with retarded effect, extremely high serum vitamin B 12 values were observed in several cases. The explanation for this phenomenon is a very high serum vitamin B 12 ‐binding capacity, caused by a vitamin B 12 binding protein located in the γ G area – presumably an antibody.
