The optical oscillator strength values and the generalised oscillator strength variation with K 2 for the longest band, second band and Schumann-Runge continuum in O 2 have been determined. In addition the differential cross sections are presented for incident electron energies of 100 to 500 eV and scattering angles of 5 to 40 degrees .
