Spectral classification of 19 OB stars in the SMC yields a true distance modulus of 19TM 1 and indicates that the foreground reddening is negligible. Through comparison of H-R diagrams, the SMC is found to be 0TM5 more distant than the LMC. Equivalent-width measurements indicate that the C ΠΙ, Ν HI, and Si lines are 2 to 3 times weaker in the SMC stars than in stars in either the LMC or the Galaxy. Projected rotational velocities are also given for each star.
