Demonstrates a new mathematical framework for resolving the Collatz conjecture, suggesting insightful principles for integer behavior.
This paper presents the MSJS (Modular Special Jump System) theory as a foundational, mathematical, philosophical, and codified hierarchical pattern framework for resolving the Collatz conjecture. The core principle is that the behavior of any positive integer, regardless of its magnitude, is fully determined by a finite set of digit patterns arranged ina strict, mathematical hierarchical sequence. This hierarchy begins with 15 fundamentalpatterns based solely on the units digit, expanding to 150 patterns when the tens digit isincluded. Further expansion introduces predictable additive shifts of +30 for odd numbersand +50 for even numbers. We establish 10 fundamental principles, including Universality and Closure, which provethat every integer is permanently captured within a finite state space of 1000 states. Theproof is supported by four formal mathematical arguments: (1) the contraction inequality2D > 3R verified for all patterns; (2) the monotonic contraction of the high-order part M;(3) the deterministic attraction of the zero-cycle to the bridge 5, or any cycle that reachesthe bridge 5 or the backbone (powers of 2), in addition to the backbone itself; and (4) theproof that the unique absorbing cycle is 1 → 4 → 2 → 1. A comprehensive comparativeanalysis with prior work demonstrates that the MSJS framework provides a structural,pattern-based, mathematical, and philosophical resolution to the Collatz conjecture.
