Nematodes of the genus Helerorhabditis caused a high level of mortality in a natural population of Graphognathus leucoloma in lucerne. The presence of the nematode in the soil was associated with a 79% reduction of weevil numbers and significantly improved plant condition. This is the first record of the natural occurrence of Helerorhabditis parasitism of G. leucoloma in Australia.
