Office occupation majors at a community college in 1‐ and 2‐year programs were identified as retained (on track, discontinued for a major‐related job, or graduated) or noncompleters. The relationship of Super's work values and Holland's occupational personality types to student retention was explored. Significant differences (p = .05) were found among the different subgroups for two work values. A stronger differentiation between retained and noncompleter groups occurred using the variable of occupational personality style.
