In recent decades, the importance of solid‐state lighting for plant growth is known as plant growth LEDs (PLEDs), which is increasingly vital for enhancing indoor crop yields and plant decoration under unfavorable climatic conditions. The easiest way of designing PLEDs takes place by coating red emission phosphor materials on UV/Blue light source chips. Hence, in this present research, the work is focused on the perovskite SrCe 1− x O 3 : x Mn ( x = 0, 1–7 mol%) phosphors that have red emission, which were synthesized via sol–gel route and reported for PLED applications. The purity of materials was analyzed by x‐ray diffractometer (XRD), and confirmed that the crystalline phase is the same even after the substitution of dopants in host materials. The surface morphological graphs were captured and found to be agglomerated. The oxidation state of the dopant was studied, and the coexistence of Mn 3 + /Mn 4 + and Ce 3 + /Ce 4 + ions in the host was found. Due to the presence of different oxidation states, phosphors could exhibit various emissions. From the optical properties of SrCe 1− x O 3 : x Mn ( x = 0, 1–7mol%) phosphors were systematically examined, and the pristine SrCeO 3 perovskite has shown white emission, whereas SrCe 1− x O 3 : x Mn ( x = 5 mol%) phosphor has shown red emission under 376 nm excitation. The chromaticity coordinates (CIE) of pristine and Mn‐doped samples were evaluated and found to be ( 0.281,0.229) for pristine, which is in the nearblue light emission, and for SrCe 1− x O 3 : x Mn ( x = 5 mol%), shifted to (0.388, 0.335) coordinates owing to red emission by doped Mn ions, underscoring their potential as efficient phosphors for PLEDs.
