Implementation and use of robotics in the Central library Oodi, Finland: A case study

The aim of this paper is to know the different aspects of robots being used by the Central Library Oodi by conducting a thorough study. The researchers used a survey-based method in their current study. The Researchers drafted a questionnaire with 24 closed-ended questions to collect data from The Central Library Oodi. The study revealed that Oodi Central Library employs a robot for moving books from the basement to the third floor, resulting in enhanced efficiency. Nevertheless, they faced technical challenges during the installation and maintenance of the robot. Notably, the introduction of robots has brought about minor alterations in the role of the library staff. The researchers looked at data on robot deployment in libraries across the globe, with an emphasis on how it affects staff perception, workflow, readiness, and obstacles.
