The magnetic susceptibilities of NaNpO2(CH3COO)2, NpO2C2O4H·H2O, and KNpF5 have been measured from 14°K to 320°K. The magnetic susceptibilities of the ions Np+6, Np+5, and Np+4 have been compared with those calculated for ions in electronic states of f-electron configurations in the presence of electric fields of specific forms and with various amounts of spin-orbit coupling.
