SUMMARY Foam stability depends strongly on capillary pressure. In some cases, this feedback mechanism maintains capillary pressure, and therefore liquid saturation and mobility, uniform and constant, independent of gas and liquid flow rates. This observation implies simple and powerful conclusions regarding foam behavior. Several applications of this principle are presented.
