40 Gbit/s all-optical wavelength converter and RZ-to-NRZformat adapter realised by monolithic integrated active Michelson interferometer

Simultaneous wavelength conversion and RZ to NRZ format conversion at 40 Gbit/s is demonstrated by a monolithically integrated active Michelson interferometer. Excellent BER performance is reported for the first time for an integrated interferometric converter operating at 40 Gbit/s.
