An extended geminal model has been applied to determine the interatomic potential for the X 1 Sigma state of NeLi + . By adopting a (9s, 6p, 3d, 1f/7s, 40, 2d, 1f) contracted Gaussian type basis set, the following potential parameters are obtained: R 0 =3.230 a 0 , R e =3.864 a 0 , D e =4.561 mHartree. As a result of an error analysis it is concluded that the binding energy D e is in error by no more than 1.5%.
