We present here the pollen analysis of two sequences originating from two peat bogs from Harghita Mountains. The vegetation record, which is supported by five 14 C dates, starts in the Subboreal (age) with the Carpinus optimum. During the Subatlantic (age) the vegetation is dominated by Fagus . Indications of human impact (especially agricultural activities) in the region occur at the beginning of the Subboreal (at ca. 4200 years BP)
