This article provides an overview of the current research on perfectionism in gifted students, including different typologies of perfectionism, influences on the development of perfectionism, and the incidence of perfectionism in gifted compared with general ability students. Implications for working with gifted, perfectionistic students are discussed, and avenues for future research in this area are proposed.
