An IgE-type anaphylactic antibody, analogous to human IgE antibody, is described in guinea pigs infected with Ascaris suum. It differs from other guinea pig anaphylactic antibodies by virtue of its greater molecular weight, its sensitivity to heat and 2-mercaptoethanol and its ability to sensitize homologous skin sites for prolonged periods of time in greater dilution.
