Critical analysis reveals the impact of cultural policies on financing in Colombia, highlighting public-private sector interactions.
This study critically analyzes the main policies that have influenced the relationship between economy and culture in Colombia since the 1990s, focusing on three key regulations that have strengthened the sector: the Cinema Law 814 of 2003, the Public Entertainment Law 1493 of 2011, and the Orange Economy Law 1834 of 2017. Drawing on document analysis of legislation, academic reflections, cultural observatory indicators, and expert interviews, this article examines the impact of these policies on cultural financing mechanisms, exploring the tensions and opportunities that have arisen from the interaction between the public and private sectors. This work constitutes an academic contribution derived from the Cultural Policies for Latin America Working Group of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO) 2022 Call.
