Air pollution caused by particulate matter (PM) is rapidly emerging as a global crisis, driven by factors such as industrial expansion, burning of agriculture waste, large scale construction related activities and the increased number of vehicles. Fiber-based PM filtration (FBPMF) is the leading air filtration technology with an efficiency of nearly 99.99 % with a low-pressure drop. This novel study conducts the first bibliometric analysis, examining 1622 documents retrieved from Scopus on FBPMF research. Insights into scholarly publications and contributions to the field were explored in three different time frames. Methodologies such as citation analysis, co-authorship analysis, and co-occurrence analysis are employed using VOS viewer and Biblioshiny software. China and the USA were found to be the most active contributors to the FBPMF research. Keyword analysis reveals hotspots including ‘Electrospinning', ‘ Escherichia coli ,' and ‘Pressure Drop'. Categorical patterns and evolution of research themes were obtained using factorial analysis and thematic mapping, respectively, emphasizing the future significance of Electrospun nanofibers in PM filtration. This study equips researchers with a quantitative approach to assess trends, future directions, and dynamics in FBPMF research, fostering a robust understanding of the field.
