A microporous metal–organic framework [Cu 2 L(H 2 O) 2 ]·(DMF) 0.5 ·(H 2 O) 7, ( ZJU-195, H 4 TTCA-NH 2 = 5-amino-3,3,5,5-tetracarboxylic acid, DMF = N, N -dimethylformamide) has been designed, synthesized, structurally characterized, and examined for its gas storage and separation. The activated ZJU-195a has achieved high C 2 H 2 storages of 275.6 cm 3 ·g –1 at 273 K and 214.2 cm 3 ·g –1 at 298 K under 1.0 bar. Furthermore, ZJU-195a selectively adsorbs C 2 H 2 over CO 2 and CH 4, exhibiting moderately high C 2 H 2 /CH 4 and C 2 H 2 /CO 2 separations at ambient conditions with an ideal adsorbed solution theory selectivity of 43.4–64.6 and 4.7–12.4, respectively.
