Estimates of the acoustic spin wave stiffness from electrical resistivity measurements on dilute PdFe, PdCo and PdMn alloys

An expression, derived on the basis of a model proposed by Long and Turner, for the T 3/2 limiting low temperature contribution to the incremental resistivity of dilute ferromagnetic alloys, is used in conjunction with existing measurements on several dilute Pd Fe, Pd Co and Pd Mn alloys, and estimates of the acoustic spin wave stiffness, D , are made. These estimates of D are compared with theoretical calculations, and with estimates of this parameter from the analysis of other types of measurements on alloys of comparable concentration.
