The case of a man with aganglionic megacolon in whom a colostomy had been established at the age of 11 months is described. The colostomy was closed half a century later, when definitive surgery to correct the disease was done. The procedure used was the endorectal pull-through operation, as described by Soave, with Boley's modification. Adaptation of the adult patient to normal rectal sensation is described.
