A key is provided to the six species of Chirothrips from the Australian region. These species are all introduced: ah Girault (= hoodi Jacot‐Guillarmod syn.n.) and atricorpus Girault from Africa; frontalis Williams, mexicanus Crawford and spiniceps Hood from America; manicatus Haliday from Europe. Two of these are potential pests of grassland, mexicanus in the north and manicatus in the south. Notes are given on native grassland thrips.
