Spherical hollow titania materials with a diameter of 60–100 nm and wall thickness of approximately 10 nm were synthesized using nanosized CaCO3 particles as inorganic templates. BET surface area of as-synthesized titania was 381.15 m2/g, and decreased to 124.36 m2/g after calcination at 500 °C for 2 h.
