A geometric model is presented to describe the electrical conductivity in a two‐phase system. In the case treated the grains are of equal size and shape and the conductivity changes primarily with changing numbers of contacts between grains of the phase with higher conductivity. A test of the validity of the model was made by application to the two‐phase region (from 22 to 50 mole % CaO) of the system ZrO 2 –CaO.
