In the current era of rapid technological development, social and communication technologies (SCTs) became more than a simple tool, acting as a catalyst in choreographic and dance education. This study aims to examine how SCTs affect the practice of dance creation and the development of professional dance skills. The study uses a structured interview and an online survey as data collection methods. A statistically significant difference was present in the level of professional development between the experimental group and the control group (70 points vs 65 points; t-statistic, 5.73; p < 0.05). This finding suggests the professional development-promoting effect of teaching the art of dance and choreography with SCTs. This study provides important pieces of information to dance and choreography teachers who seek to boost the development of their students. Knowledge of the benefits and challenges of using SCTs can help educators implement these tools in the classroom efficiently. Therefore, this study presents a contribution potentially valuable to enhance the quality of choreographic education.
