The low temperature specific heat of nineteen borides T 2 B of transition elements was measured between 1.2 and 4.2 °K. The variation of the electronic specific heat coefficient γ as a function of the e/a ratio of the transition metal gives the shape of the 3d‐band of T 2 B. The band shape shows a minimum for the transition from weak to strong ferromagnetism. For the concentrations where the ferromagnetism appears and disappears, the γ values are strongly enhanced and do not express the real density of states at the Fermi level. The end of the T 2 B band compared with that of transition metals is shifted to lower e/a values as a result of a transfer of electrons to the 3d‐band due to the presence of boron atoms.
