An intravenous pyelographic examination in Portugal was reported to be negative. She experienced dyspareunia, and repeated urinary-tract infections occurred during the next few years. Four years before admission another intravenous pyelographic examination was reported to show an abnormality of the left ureter. Twenty-six months before entry, shortly after immigration to this country, she was first seen at this hospital, where examination revealed that the blood pressure was 180/120 . . .
