We study Z boson production in hadron-hadron collisions, computing the contributions in second-order QCD of diagrams involving a cut heavy-quark triangle with vector, vector, and axial-vector vertices. These contributions are shown to be small compared with those of topologically similar diagrams, studied by other authors, with a virtual triangle and identical flavor structure.
