Yield of carcass, commercial parts, and the meat, skin, and bone components of the major parts were determined on eight commercial strains of chicken broilers raised in Canada. No significant differences (P<.05) were found between sexes for yield of the major parts of the meat, skin, and bone components of the drumette, legs, and breasts; however, when comparing the pooled data, strain differences were evident for relative yield of parts and in the percentage of meat, skin, and bone components.
