Raman spectra of walpurgite, (UO 2 )Bi 4 O 4 (AsO 4 ) 2 ·2H 2 O, recorded at 298 K and 77 K are presented and compared with infrared spectra of walpurgite and phosphowalpurgite. Bands connected with (UO 2 ) 2+ , (AsO 4 ) 3− , and H 2 O stretch and bend, and BiO stretch are tentatively assigned. Hydrogen bond lengths are calculated from the wavenumbers of the H 2 O stretching vibrations and compared with those from the crystal structure analysis of walpurgite.
