Hypomagnesemia is sometimes caused by the proton-pump inhibitor (PPI) omeprazole (2–4).Objective: To present a case of hypomagnesemia induced by the PPIs omeprazole, pantoprazole, and lansoprazole.Case Report: A 58-year-old man was hospitalized because of loss of consciousness and convulsions while working in his garden. During this event, he did not bite his tongue or lose urine. He had not been ill recently but reported muscle cramps for several weeks. His medical history included esophagitis, pneumothorax, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, a hip fracture, and ...References1. Agus ZS. Hypomagnesemia. J Am Soc Nephrol. 1999;10:1616-22.
