A case of chromomycosis of the skin due to Cladosporium trichoides is reported. Chromomycosis caused by this fungus has not previously been described. Treatment with 5-fluorocytosine for 36 weeks was successful. It is concluded that 5-fluorocytosine is a useful drug in this condition as it can be given on an outpatient basis and has minimal side effects in prolonged high dosage.
